They call them the puppy dog of the cow world! Did you know Highland cows are the oldest living breed of cow in the world? Highlands are a small to mid-size cow originating from Scotland. They’re known for being super friendly and easy to handle. White Oak Stables is home to these friendly boys.
These friendly Highland steers joined our farm in Warrenton Virgina in December of 2023! They love horse treats and rubs on their chest and are halter broken. Did you know cows can carry 15% of their body weight and you can ride them like a horse? We have plans to teach them how to pull a cart and give “cow-pony” rides when they’re fully grown.

Moover
He is the “boss cow” of the boys. Moover is a 2022 black highland cow. He has a big personality and loves scratches under the chin.
Shaker
Shaker is a 2022 brown highland cow and a month younger than Moover. He loves butt scratches and pulling things off the shelves in the barn.
